Spread the word

Spread the word! Spreading the word about a cause is so much more powerful then some people think.  Not only with your voice but on your blog, website, social networks, everywhere. Your message could reach tons of people. If we all work together to do our little part a big difference could be made. Think of how many people and animals could be saved, fed, or helped.  Even though your not giving money, you are giving those who need your help a voice.  That is priceless.

Spread the word about any cause you can think of.  Or pick a few that you care about and let people know how you feel.  Please be aware that the following causes are not necessarily free to donate to.

Hunger Awareness

Over 1 billion people in the world are chronically hungry. In fact today, more people die from hunger related causes than from AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis combined.

Word of mouth is a powerful tool in the fight against hunger!

AIDS Awareness

Picture
AIDS is now a pandemic. In 2007, it was estimated that 33.2 million people lived with the disease worldwide, and that AIDS killed an estimated 2.1 million people, including 330,000 children. Over three-quarters of these deaths occurred in sub-Saharan Africa, retarding economic growth and destroying human capital.

Although treatments for AIDS and HIV can slow the course of the disease, there is currently novaccine or cure. Antiretroviral treatment reduces both
the mortality and the morbidity of HIV infection, but these drugs are expensive and routine access to antiretroviral medication is not available in all countries.Due to the difficulty in treating HIV infection, preventing infection is a key aim in controlling the AIDS pandemic, with health organizations promoting safe sex andneedle-exchange programmes in attempts to slow the spread of the virus.

The National Breast Cancer Foundation estimates that each year over 200,000 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed and over 40,000 patients will die from the disease. Breast cancer is truly an epidemic among women and we don't know why.

"When breast cancer is found early, the five-year survival rate is 96%."
--National Breast Cancer Foundation

Breast cancer is not exclusively a disease of women. For every 100 women with breast cancer, 1 male will develop the disease. The National Breast Cancer Foundation estimates that approximately 1,700 men will develop the disease and 450 will die each year. The evaluation of men with breast masses is similar to that in women, including mammography.
